We Believe that Healing Happens Through the Body
Our relationship with our body is the longest one we'll ever have. Our nervous system controls everything we do, think, say and feel. When we develop a relationship with both, we begin to heal physically, mentally, and spiritually.
We meet you where you are and empower you to take an active role in your nervous system health and recovery.

Why We Do What We Do...
It is continuously a process, but learning how to reconnect with my nervous system in moments of distress has allowed stress to move through me instead of remaining stuck in my shoulders, hips, or back of the heart. Engaging with my body through the lens of yoga therapy and working with Jenn from Viasomatic has completely shifted my awareness of how I respond to stress, triggers and process complex emotions.
Doing this work literally saved my life! I became equipped with tools to bring myself back to center when things feel out of control and my whole life transformed. Scary episodes began to disappear altogether as I developed an inner knowing that whatever happens, I know how to handle it.
I have never experienced anything like that before.

How does the Viasomatic Method work?
The Viasomatic method uses yoga therapy, specifically yoga-based movements and breath patterns that mimic defensive stress responses to complete the stress cycle and move your nervous system back into equilibrium. Viasomatic trains the nervous system to respond actively to stressors and build resilience — which leads to better mental health.
The Viasomatic method is a bottom-up approach to working with stress, trauma, and mental health. A bottom-up approach works with the information traveling up from the body via the interoceptive senses. The Viasomatic Method creates nervous system equilibrium by connecting the body’s information with the brain and giving you tools to move through a stress response, big or small.
Doesn't stress resolve naturally in the body?
What are the benefits of the Viasomatic Method?
- Stress management — Viasomatic is an active, body based approach to working with your body’s stress response. You will learn to recognize your stress patterns and respond in a way that shifts your physiology in the moment.
- Emotional Regulation — Viasomatic offers approaches to help navigate emotions skillfully by responding with body based self-soothing practices. Emotions have great value and can guide us into growth and compassion when we can regulate the nervous system.
- Self-Agency — The Viasomatic method helps us recognize triggers and respond mindfully rather than reactively. The goal of Viasomatic is to help you learn to have a stress response while keeping your full human brain online (especially the prefrontal cortex) so you can respond to life’s challenges and triggers in alignment with your goals and values.
- Physical Relaxation — Our body based approach to stress recovery moves stuck tension in the body and supports you in feeling relaxed and at ease in the body.
- Better Sleep — Stress disrupts sleep. Completing a stress response can help you drift off into a restful sleep that supports physical restoration, the immune response, and hormone regulation.
- Long-Term Coping Strategies — Viasomatic gives you healthy tools to respond to stress that you can use for a lifetime.
- Better Relationships — Learning to regulate your own nervous system supports your ability to connect, communicate and grow in your relationships. Or as one of our clients said “Viasomatic helps me human better.”

Jenn Wooten
Hello and welcome! I am a certified yoga therapist, trauma-informed yoga teacher and teacher trainer, and the founder of Viasomatic. I've spent 30 years studying holistic, mind-body, and somatic practices for trauma healing and nervous system resilience.
As a child I was captivated by the natural sciences and the human body. I spent many of my formative adolescent years after school in a rehab center with my sister, after she suffered a traumatic brain injury, observing movement specialists who helped people rebuild their lives after traumatic experiences.
While attending the University of Texas at Austin, I stumbled into an on-campus yoga class and instantly recognized it as a powerful tool for navigating life’s challenges and finding resilience through challenging experiences. Yoga has been my primary tool for healing from complex trauma and working with my own neurodivergence. These practices have guided me through births, deaths and everything in between.
Now, with two decades of experience in the field of yoga, somatics, and mindfulness, my work now is primarily guiding yoga teachers and mental health professionals to use movement for recovery from trauma and post-traumatic stress. Through this platform, we offer effective tools regulating the nervous system and recovering from stress, anxiety and trauma - tools which have enhanced my own well-being in immeasurable ways.
I believe in this work to empower you to take an active role in your well-being, foster personal agency, and create post-traumatic growth. I am committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive space, where you can explore the transformative power of yoga therapy.
